Midwinter Trek
We had our
midwinter trek at the Horlacher's place on Saturday 3rd July.
There were Ann Tyler-Moore, Raewyn McKenzie and Kim her llama helper,
Penny King, Christof & Meret and 7 llamas. As the weather was unsettled we
played a bit in the woolshed, lifting their feet up with help of a rope and
put them on the stock scale and checked their weight. We went for a short
trek, as the sun was just out for a bit. Then we had a shared lunch at
the house, followed by a natural horsemanship video. This inspired us
enough to go to the round pen and Penny showed us what the people in America
do when they do natural ‘llama-ship.” We had a nice Saturday together, no
matter what the weather was doing.
Midwinter Christmas
at Palmdale hosted by Emma and Fred Schwithal
July Sunday 25th The
dinner guests included Robyn and Mike with Flax and Ferne, also Gabrielle
and Peter, Jan and Chris, along with the newest Canterbury llama residents
Louisa and Murray who have just moved down from the Nelson area. After
visiting lots of lovely llamas and Fred's well set up yards and races, there
was a human weigh in on the lama scales. Wonderful evening, great hosts,
great company! |

AGM 1st and 2rd May 2004
Undaunted by the deluge of rain the members took 16 llamas
walking on the Saturday and got the girls out to play on the Sunday among
the obstacles.
If you had to get stuck inside on a rainy weekend, then llama
folk who love their animals with a passion are a great bunch to spend time
with.
